Acura official confirms the Electric NSX successor launch in 2027/2028

Acura’s global executive vice president Shinji Aoyama said that the company will launch a new sports car in 2027 or 2028. This sports car may not be called NSX, but it will be a new ” NSX-style ” car.
Even though the naming may be different, this car will be the “successor” to Acura’s classic sports car NSX. The new car will be a pure electric model, and the development policy is “light and thin”. According to Aoyama, the company is working to make the battery of the technology platform used in the car thinner to achieve a lower body height and bring more interior space.

The electric version of NSX will adopt Honda’s latest “0” series architecture, which will also be used for Honda’s first pure electric sedan to be launched in 2026.
The previous generation Acura NSX was discontinued in 2022. It uses a twin-turbocharged V6 engine and three motors with a total power of 600 horsepower. It has Honda’s cutting-edge transmission control system Sport Hybrid SH-AWD technology (multi-power control four-wheel drive system).
